Lesson Six- Christ's kind of Love!

There are different types of love, erotic/romantic love, storge/familiar love, philia/affectionate love, philautia/self love, mania/obsessional love and agape love/selfless love. The Christ  kind of love is agape love. Remember the brother of the prodigal son? Who was very critical of his brother but never understood the love of his father despite being around him?

Many people still see God as a task master and overbearing, they are still under the law not yet embraced God's grace. Many do not have a personal relationship with God but are church goers and religious. David in spite of his shortcoming understood God's love. Not everyone knows and understands the love of God despite us all being beneficiaries. It is important that you seek a spouse who has a relationship with God not just a religious person! Only those who understand God's love can extend God's love to others. Agape love is the only love strong enough to hold a marriage together! Don't be deceived, not every Christian understands agape love!
